It’s been 6 days since my Carvykti infusion. “Day + 6” is how they phrase it. This morning I was very wiped out. Most of my lab numbers are too low or too high depending. It’s pretty much what’s expected, and contributes to my fatigue. I also have a fever which they’re trying to lower. Icy washcloths under my armpits, on my forehead, under my chin and on my legs. Also, ongoing mental status checks for neurotoxicity. In addition to the new meds they’ve started me on, I also had two shots to my belly. One of them I’ll have to give to myself once I’m discharged, but discharge is not immanent. Statistically, days 7-10 are when the bad side effects from Carvykti could happen, and they’ve started.
As wonderful and caring as the staff at Stanford have been,I miss my home, gardens, and just being outside. Most of all I miss my friends.
The wonderfully fragrant ‘Mi Amor’ Rhododendron blooming now in my back yard. Thanks to my neighbor Linda Z for sending me this photo.
